Sugar Panning is easily our largest differentiator at Georgia Nut Company. We are widely considered one of the largest sugar panning operations in North America; specializing in both conventional and automated sugar panning. This allows us to create many of your favorite candies including Chocolate Gems, Peanut Butter Gems, Sugar Panned Sunflower Seeds, and more.
The conventional sugar panning process begins with our drop-rollers, where we expertly form our chocolate lentils for the panning process. We have numerous drop-rollers and the size of lentil we use varies from our large lentil for snack mixes to micro-mini lentils for bakery applications. Once the centers are formed, it is time for them to receive their candy coating. At Georgia Nut Company, we have over 160 – 38’’ pans that can run up to 53,000 lbs. of sugar panned product at any given time. We have also built several allergen friendly rooms, and segregated Peanut/Tree Nut-Free warehousing, to accommodate the growing demand for Peanut/Tree Nut-Free product.
In addition to our conventional sugar panning rooms, we also have an automated sugar panning system. This system has the ability to run up to 6 colors and 4,000 lbs. of product at one time. Our automated sugar panning system is also housed in a Peanut/Tree Nut-Free environment. This allows us to maintain a high level of allergen control that adheres to the highest of industry standards.
