Have an innovative idea for a food product, but not sure where to start? Whether it is for breakfast, dessert, or to pair with your favorite wine, we can help! Our R&D Process begins with a Concept Consultation. This is where we will work with your company to review your concept and outline any key product attributes (i.e. label claims, natural colors, nutritional targets, price targets) you would like us to focus on. Our team of experts will also work closely with your company to spot new snacking trends and make recommendations as to how we can deliver optimal value to your customers.
Once we have created a project brief, it is time to make some magic happen in our brand new Rose F. Musso Innovation Center. Our up-to-date R&D facility, that is over 3,000 square feet, includes a full kitchen, lab pans, mixing tables, and everything else we need to create your prototypes on a small scale. Samples will be sent to your company for review, and we will work together to refine your product’s sensory, appearance, and nutritional values. A second round of samples can always be prepared if necessary.
Your prototypes are perfect! They look great and the flavor packs a punch that your customers will love. Now it is time to scale-up your product in our plant. We will do a smaller production run to ensure optimization of the formula and processes/throughputs. Production, R&D, and Sales will then have an opportunity to conduct a final review before the “Big Day”.
Congratulations! The “Big Day” has arrived where we will officially be producing your product for consumption. Pat yourself on the back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. You are more than welcome to come in and observe. Our Operations Team will be on-hand to ensure a high level of quality, and address any questions you may have. We might even give you a tour of our facility, and begin discussing your next product launch.
